AmritaCREATE, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, organized Online Labs workshop at different schools in Delhi from August 7- 18 , 2017, as part of Online Labs training programme. More than three hundred science teachers from one hundred and twenty schools got the opportunity to explore Online Labs during the training program.

On the first day of training program, Ms. Mohini Bindra, Principal, Ramjaas School, Delhi, inaugurated the training program. Ms. Urvashi Kainth, the coordinator of the training programme, gave the welcome speech. The principals and science teachers from different nearby schools participated in the training programme.

The training session was handled by Ms. Rathnam Chenthamarkshan, Project Manager, AmritaCREATE, who gave an introduction of Online Labs project and explain the experiments showcased in the Online Labs website in detail.

A demonstration on Amrita Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) was also done as part of the training programme.

The whole program invoked the curiosity of the participants who were interested to register in the Online Labs website and made them aware of the importance of accessing the virtual platform in the present day educational system. The programme concluded with distribution of Online Labs CDs and certificate of participation and a detailed discussion with the participants to improve the quality and performance of the website.

“The concept is really good and useful. The students can perform lab experiments online using the website. They can try out the experiments in home after completing their normal classroom sessions in school,” commented Ms. Mohini Bindra, the principal of Ramjaas School, Delhi.

“My school and I have been using Online Labs for the past two years. The concept is really useful for both teachers and students. Especially the simulator part helps the student to work out the experiments online. Really innovative and interesting concept,” said Ms. Kalpana Varma, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Vasanth Kunj, Delhi The AmritaCREATE team visited different schools in Delhi, such as Amrita Vidyalayam, Saket; Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2, Delhi Cantt; Kendriya Vidyalaya, Vasanth Kunj; Amity International School; Mater Dei Convent School; RKLM Girls Senior Secondary School and Chowgule Public School, Delhi and conducted Online Labs training programmes for the teachers in the school.
