Mr. Amritesh P. S. (2017-2019 batch), Department of Management, Amritapuri Campus, won gold medal in the Indo-Nepal International Rural Boxing Championship, held at Dasarath Rangasala on 27th and 28th October, 2017. He represented India in the boxing tournament.
On November 8th, 2017, the Department of Management, Amritapuri, held felicitation ceremony for Mr. Amritesh. Addressing the gathering, Dr. V. S. Somanath, Chairperson, Department of Management, Amritapuri said, “Only a hardworking and determined person can achieve such great accomplishments.”

Somanath for giving permission to participate in this mega event and also I thank all the sports council members especially Br. Ashish, Faculty Associate, Department of Electronics and Communication, Amritapuri, for all the effort taken for the same,” said Krishnakumar S., Chairperson, Department of Physical Education, Amritapuri.
Mr. Amritesh will take part in the All India Interuniversity Boxing Championship to be held at Punjab on November 18th, 2017.
“This victory is not an individual effort ,This is an result of support from lot of people. I thank Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Director Br. Sudeep Ji and Dr. Somanath for all financial support. It was very hard finding a balance between studies and competing. The faculty from Amrita School of Business helped me achieve this, and for my training I thank the Physical Education Department and weightlifter Yedhuraj for helping me out. I dedicate this victory to all my friends from MBA. I thank the Fight Club Martial Arts Academy, Palakkad Boxing Association, Ironfist Boxing Club and Rural State Committee and National Committee, Haryana, for this opportunity. I was trained under National Wushu player, Arjun Premkumar. There are lot of talents out there who haven’t received any form of appreciation or opportunities. I want to take this opportunity to congratulate them,” shared Mr. Amritesh.
