All life processes are facilitated by the interaction, interconversion and degradation of biomolecules. Any vicissitudes from the normal condition will lead to abnormalities in these biomolecules as well as their performance. The Biomolecular Chemistry Lab at Amrita School of Biotechnology, Amritapuri focuses on the qualitative and quantitative biochemistry and molecular biophysics of biomolecules and Bioconjugate Chemistry. Our broad areas of research include physical biochemistry, bioenergetics, protein structure, membrane biochemistry and chemical manipulations of biopolymers.
