Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is coordinating an Indo-Italy Network of Excellence along with Università degli Studi di Milano and partners IIT Madras , IIT HYDERABAD, Università degli studi di Pavia , Unimore – Università degli Studi di Modena and Reggio Emilia . The network of excellence was themed “Multiscale Brain Function India-Italy Network of Excellence (MSBFIINE)” and was launched on March 14, 2022, at a virtual event organized by the Embassy of Italy in India.
Through this network, the partners will work on mathematical modeling of realistic brain networks and their function as digital twins to explore brain function and disorders. Prof. Shyam Diwakar from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham will lead the Indian side and Prof. Giovanni Naldi from the University of Milan La Statale will coordinate the Italian side. The other investigators include Prof. Srinivasa Chakravarthy of IIT Madras, Prof. Mohan Raghavan of IIT Hyderabad, Prof. Egidio D’Angelo of University of Pavia, and Prof. Jonathan Mapelli of University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. This project is supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India (international division) on the Indian side and Ministero degli Affari Esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale on the Italian side.
