Viveka Tribal Center for Learning is a residential school for tribal children initiated in the year 1988 and has been recognized by the Government since 1990. It offers a unique environment and facilities to encourage education among tribal children. The school is home to about 425 students from forest-based tribal communities like Jenu Kuruba, Kaadu Kuruba, Yerava and Soliga. The aim of this institution is to impart quality education to tribal children of H. D. Kote, between 6 to 15 years of age.
By working together with the Viveka Tribal Center, our students got an opportunity to interact with the tribal children and learn about the lifestyle, culture and traditions of tribal communities. The students spent quality time with the children singing and dancing. They even gave the children singing lessons. In the future, our students can contribute in more substantial ways by helping the students with their studies and assisting with various rural development efforts.
