Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has been ranked ninth best among all universities in India under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), MHRD.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations broad understanding arrived at by a Core Committee set up by MHRD, to identify the parameters for ranking various universities and institutions. The parameters broadly cover teaching, learning & resources, research & professional practices,graduation outcomes, outreach & inclusivity and perception.  India Rankings – 2017 based on this framework were released on April 3, 2017, by the Human Development Resources Minister, Prakash Javadekar.
