The Young Indians Network (YiNet) of Amrita School of Business (ASB), Coimbatore, joined hands with Coimbatore City Police this New Year, to ensure road safety on the day.
City police took several measures this year to ensure road safety on the holiday. Among them were the tagging of New Year greeting card-cum-advisory on vehicles to urge responsible celebrations. With cautions against drunk driving and speeding, the New Year’s greeting card campaign appealed to the people.
The students assisted the police in regulating traffic, checking traffic violations, and also in surprise celebrations for the public on the roads on New Year’s eve. There were no fatal accidents reported and the celebrations went peacefully. Along with ASB Coimbatore, PSG College of Arts and Science, K. V. Institute of Management and SriGuru College of Engineering and Technology participated in the program.
