After months of preparation, Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore, conducted the 20th edition of its national-level b-fest, Pragati, December 3rd-4th, 2016. Pragati witnessed participation from more than 150 students from top business schools such as: IIT-Bombay, Thiagarajar School of Management and Christ University, KCT Business School, Rajagiri School of Business.
“Business in Bytes” was the theme for Pragati 2016. The event consisted of an array of management games targeted at aspiring managers, and combined learning with fun. “Into the Storm” for finding the best manager; “Wolves of Biz Street”, a business quiz; and “Pitcher’s Pack’, for the best business plan were the flagship events. Four forums – GEN-M (Marketing), RELATIONS (Human Resources), FORTUNE (Finance) and OZONE (Operations) organized the games.
“Pragati provided a platform to test our decision-making and organizational skills. It was an opportunity to compete with the best talents from various b-schools and learn from the feedback of the experienced judges,” commented a group of students from Christ University.
Col. Korath Mathew, ICT Solution Expert for Indore Smart City Development Ltd, the former COO at CSC e-Governance Services India and Mr. Anupam Raghuvansi, Director T.I M.E. Varanasi Prerana Fellow were the Chief Guests for the event. Col. Korath is an alumnus of ASB, Coimbatore (2000-2002).
Eminent industry leaders and professors from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham judged the competitions and provided feedback to the students. Christ University, Bengaluru won the overall championship for the year. The marketing forum ‘GEN-M’ won the best forum award for the year. The entertainment games and cultural programs further spiced up the event.
