Abstract : The paper deals with the analysis of a Hybrid LiFi and WiFi Network model(HLWNet)for indoor mobile users having a random orientation, such that when performance is compared, it is better for HLWNet than for a standalone LiFi Access Point(AP)serving such a device. The hybrid system is advantageous over either standalone systems because it makes use of the high data rates of the LiFi system along with illumination and the ubiquitous coverage of the WiFi system. The system model is such that it uses both the LiFi link and the WiFi link simultaneously. The Signal To Noise Ratio (SNR) and Bit Error Rate (BER) of the system is the major parameter under consideration. Overall SNR of the hybrid system is derived and is compared with that of standalone LiFi system. It is shown that SNR and throughput of the former is better than that of the latter.
