Abstract : Plastic waste management is a challenging task worldwide and researchers are exploring the feasibility of using plastic waste in the construction sector. This paper reports on the design and construction of a semi-automated machine that converts low density polyethylene plastic waste into construction materials such as blocks, tiles and partition panels. The performance of the machine during loading and manufacturing interlocking blocks is also discussed. The samples obtained had a compressive strength of 10 MPa corresponding to 20% strain, which is higher than that of the conventionally used construction materials.
