Brave New Woman in a Brave New World is a series of sensitization programs planned for B.Tech. female students of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Coimbatore campus. A program held on April 6,2016, helped the students to understand and appreciate the role of young women personally and in society. The program was organized by Dr. C. S. Sowndaram, professional counsellor, and Mrs. Rajalakshmi S.A., Department of Students Welfare, Coimbatore campus, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. 

Dr. N. S. Rohini, HOD and Professor, Department of Psychology and Dean of Student Affairs, Avinashilingam University, Coimbatore was the Chief Guest. She addressed the importance of maintaining dignity and respect in the role of women and the skills needed for the same. Dr. Harini Jayaraman, Professor and Chairperson, Department of English, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, discussed her views on “Who is a woman?” through an interactive session with students. Students participated enthusiastically in a slogan competition on the topic “Brave New Woman in a Brave New World” and won prizes. Overall, the session created a direction to think and lead on.
