Abstract : In this work, a Programmable Variable-Length Pseudo-Random Sequence Generator is designed which generates test patterns of different lengths depending on a set of input signals from the user. According to the inputs, the proposed design is able to select from different feedback paths which are based on different primitive and non-primitive polynomials and thus capable of producing multi-pattern sequences of different lengths. This system is used to implement multiple polynomials of degree 2 to 10 in Vivado. The proposed system can be used in various applications, including Built-In Self-Test (BIST), wireless communications and cryptography.
