John Joseph, Senior Research Fellow and PhD student at Amrita Center for Nanosciences and Molecular Medicine, won the ‘Best Poster Award’ in the Poster Session “Walkway of Discovery” at the 8th Bangalore INDIA NANO 2016. Bangalore INDIA NANO 2016, India’s Flagship Nanotech Event, was held at the Lalit Ashok, Bangalore, on March 3rd, 2016. The winning poster was titled “Functionalized Electrospun Nano Fabric”, for which John Joseph received a cash award of Rs.20, 000. John pursues his research under the guidance of Dr. Deepthy Menon and Dr. Shantikumar V. Nair, and the poster which grabbed the award projected a part of John’s research work at the Nanosciences Center.
The Department of Information Technology, Biotechnology, and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka, in association with Karnataka’s Vision Group on Nanotechnology, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), organizes the Bangalore INDIA NANO event annually to foster a business environment for the development of the Nanoscience and Nanotechnology industry in India. It is considered to be one of the biggest Nanotech events in the country, providing an international platform for knowledge sharing. The poster session “Walkway of Discovery” provided a unique opportunity for scientists and researchers to showcase their research initiatives in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology to leading investors, scientists and heads of research and development organisations.
