Students from Spirituality Mind Body Institute, Columbia University, visited Amrita Darshanam – International Center for Spiritual Studies at the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham for a ten day spiritual retreat during December 26, 2015 to January 6, 2016.
The students had interactive sessions with senior disciples of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Chancellor Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma), and received training on Amrita Yoga and Integrated Amrita Meditation (IAM). The visitors then embarked on an inner journey at the Amritapuri Ashram in the holy presence of Chancellor Amma. The students searched deeply within themselves for the nature of Spirit to discover transformational inner realities that will enliven their work with clients, patients, and the work they choose to do.
This project was organized under the guidance of Dr. Anand S., Assistant Professor, Amrita Darshanam – International Center for Spiritual Studies of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Professor Lisa Miller. The students were accompanied by instructor Sarah Sherman of Columbia University. The visit was ably supported by Amrita Center for International Programs.
