Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi has received the State Pollution Control Award 2015, under the Medical Colleges/Autonomous bodies category, instituted by Kerala State Pollution Control Board, on June 05, the world Environment Day. The award was bestowed for substantial and sustained efforts in pollution control and for initiatives in environment protection in 2014. Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences received cash award of Rs 1,00,000, trophy and certificate.
On behalf of AMRITA, Sri. V. Rajappan, Head, Water Treatment and Bio-medical Waste Management and Sri. R. R. Rajesh, Senior Research Officer, Water Treatment and Bio-medical Waste Management received the awards.
The State Pollution Control Awards are decided based on the achievements of the establishments in pollution control and environment protection during the year.
