Amrita Center for Entrepreneurship (ACE) takes pride in having organized ‘InternMela’ on April 11, 2015, first of its kind internship drive in Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, the motto of which was ‘to give a platform for the students to experimentally learn the organizational structure and understand the culture of entrepreneurial world’.
The event was aimed to bring the Start-up Houses and students of Amrita’s Bengaluru campus together in order to provide an opportunity to interact with budding entrepreneurs. Through this, the students understand what it takes to be an intern in a startup in their domains of interest and also are exposed to the Start-up ecosystem.
The event was inaugurated by our chief guest Mr. Amanullah Khan: entrepreneur, business coach, consultant; Executive Chairman– Institute for Management of Life, and Founder of Alternative Careers, in the presence of Campus Director Br. Dhanraj Swami, Associate Dean Dr. S. G. Rakesh and Center Head of Corporate & Industry Relations (CIR), Bengaluru.
“The entrepreneurship mindset” is a choice to be made in spite of the fears and doubts of societal conditioning,” stated Mr. Amanullah Khan.
The event kicked off by 11:00 am with 31 Start-up companies eager to recruit young and enthusiastic interns from our college. Companies like Digi Collect GIS, Smartanius, Binocolor, Wiki Results, Guide Trip, GRID India, IBNC, Hasovan, Khojio, Karyaa and many more held their interviews throughout the day and many of these companies found promising talent in our college and recruited interns.
The event progressed smoothly owed to the collective effort of the ACE team members with the valuable mentorship of the CIR team. Many companies remarked on the efficient proceedings of the day and had very positive comments on the event.
The event boasted 211 registrations with more than 75 students hired to be a part of their Start-Up world. The overall response from majority of the companies was highly encouraging with many of them praising and commending the standard and the caliber of our students.
The event ended on a high note with the companies leaving impressed by the potential of our students and many of our students finding internships in not only engineering domains, but also in marketing, sales, journalism and content writing.
