Students of Amritapuri Campus won various prizes at the annual cultural fest of NIT Calicut, Ragam 2015 held from March 26-29, 2015. Even during the busy schedule of the periodicals and academic pressures they were able to achieve this goal. The Cultural Association of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Amritapuri campus, SAMSKRITI team congratulated all the team members who participated and won in the events. The winners are:
- Ramuraj and team won first prize in Swara Raaga (Music category) and received a cash prize of INR Rs.12, 000.
- Durga Venugopal, School of Biotechnology student, won the title, Best Female Singer, in Rajan Memorial Light Music Solo (Music category) and received a cash prize of INR Rs.10, 000.
- Bharadwaj, first-year School of Ayurveda student, won second prize in Classical Music Solo (Music category) and received a cash prize of INR Rs.3, 000.
- Prathibha G., first-year School of Ayurveda student, won first prize in Cartooning (Fine Arts category) and received a cash prize of INR Rs.2000.
- Roshni R. (first-year School of Ayurveda student) and Aarsha Maria Joseph (final-year School of Ayurveda student ) won first prize in Face Painting (Fine Arts category) and received a cash prize of INR Rs.1,500.
- Madhav Gopi, second-year BTech CSE student, won second prize in String (Non-percussion) Solo (Music category) and received a cash prize of INR Rs.1,000.
- Hithesh, first-year MTech student, won second prize in Overacting (Dramatics category) and received a cash prize of INR Rs.1000.
- Gopika P.,final-year BTech EEE student, won second prize in Painting (Fine Arts category) and received a cash prize of INR Rs.800.
- Sruthi, second-year MTech VLSI student, won Second prize in Pencil Sketching (Fine Arts category) and received a cash prize of INR Rs.800.
- Hithesh, first-year MTech student, won third prize in Mimicry (Dramatics category) and received a cash prize of INR Rs.750.
- Pankaj Mohan, second-year MTech student, won third prize in Western solo (Music category) and received a cash prize of INR Rs.750.
- School of Ayurveda students Dhanya and Aishwarya won third prize in Face Painting (Fine Arts category)and received a cash prize of INR Rs.600.
- Sruthi (second-year MTech VLSI student), Heera (MTech VLSI student), Gopika (final-year BTech EEE student) and Prathibha G. (first-year School of Ayurveda student ) won third first prize in Collage (Fine Arts category) and received a cash prize of INR Rs.600.
- Aarsha Maria Joseph(final-year School of Ayurveda student ) and Thara Raj (first-year School of Ayurveda student) won third first prize in Mehendi (Fine Arts category)and received a cash prize of INR Rs.400.
“NIT Ragam was a wonderful experience for me. I am happy that I could acquire the first prize in light music. It was an awesome stage to perform and showcase our talents in front of others,” commented Durga Venugopal, School of Biotechnology student.
