It would have in the mind of many who attended the ABC drives, “Why shouldn’t we clean the college first before cleaning the outside townships?” well though there were cleanup drives in the surroundings of the college campus, the idea of the cleaning the classrooms themselves was not something strange, nor was it out of the way.
Sanjeevanites had the answer in their hands classroom cleanup drive (though it came as a shock to many of us) was introduced for the first time in Amrita campus. As usual registered members started the day with prayer, and an Inspirational talk by our campus dean Dr. Balakrishnan Shankar. He stressed the importance of keeping our classrooms clean and quoted some of his experiences related to this cleaning.
All the registered members around a total of 200 students and 50 staff members were divided into groups to clean all the classrooms in the main campus and the Bio tech. The new dust bins along with the cleaning tools, were kept ready. The refreshment team was at full swing in preparing lime juice to all the participants.
After completely removing every speck of chalk dust from the classrooms the participants returned to the Sanjeevani room. After some final settlements the team dispersed filling their hearts with memories that they won’t forget.
