A team comprising Dussa Ramakrishna (II Year M. Tech Power Electronics & Drives), Roobin Raj S. (Final Year B. Tech EEE), Vishal Khanna S. (Final Year B. Tech EEE) and Prasad D. (Final Year B. Tech EEE) from the School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Viydapeetham, Coimbatore campus, excelled as one of the top three presenters in the fourth annual edition of the “State of The Future Art” themed ‘ELGi Technology Day’ conducted by ELGi Equipments Limited (Coimbatore) on December 15, 2021. The team presented the topic titled “Fault Prediction in Induction Motors using Machine Learning Approach”. The team was mentored by Dr. Praveen Kumar N. (Assistant Professor (SG), Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore).
ELGi invited the prospective young engineers with their academic supervisors to contribute by transpiring innovative concepts and ideas; towards the efficiency and reliability enhancement of compressors and their subsystems. The event saw participation from ELGi employees, academia, and students from several engineering colleges across India. This contest received concepts and ideas from several engineering colleges, which were evaluated and filtered at three levels through a presentation and a question and answer session. The top three shortlisted papers were selected as best concept development and for presentation at the Technology Day.
