A workshop on Space Technology and Sponsored Research was organized on July 25, 2014 by ISRO, Trivandrum at Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore Campus. 8 Group/Deputy Directors from various entities at VSSC, ISRO participated.

Sri P. Ratnakara Rao, Deputy Director, Management Systems Entity, shared a detailed presentation and video on ISRO and the developments occurring in Indian Space Research.

Deputy Directors Dr. S. Aravamuthan (Propellants, Polymers, Chemicals & Materials Entity), Sri. S. Rakesh (Composites Entity), Sri. T. Mookiah (Avionics Entity), Dr. S. Packirisamy (Analytical & Special Chemical Group), and Mrs. Sheena Abraham (Advance Senor Electronics & Checkout Division) spoke during the event. They shared the research developments and the available thrust areas and scope for research in their respective entities. Sri. S. Sridharan, Coordinator, ISRO RESPOND program was also present. Faculty members from Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore Campus shared their research capabilities with the group directors. The ISRO team encouraged them to submit formal proposals for potential funding. The event has opened up good avenues for possible collaborations for research with ISRO and the Indian Space scenario.
