Character can be defined as the sum of qualities that defines a person including a person’s intellect,thoughts,ideas etc…We would all benefit from being more aware of our characteristics and personality traits.That’s because they are significant predictors of our behaviors and attitudes.Without a clear idea of one’s own preferences, making the right choice can be extremely difficult and confusing.Everyone’s personality is unique, and knowing what makes us can lead to more satisfaction,better life choices, and overall success in both personal and professional spheres.
Rasatantra Association, Department of Chemistry, School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapetham, Amritapuri Campus, conducted a webinar on the topic “Building Rock-Solid Character Traits” on October 28, 2020 at 2.30 pm on an online platform through teams.
The programme started at 2.30 pm. The compering was done by Abhirami SD of S5 and Gopika S. of S3 .The session started with a prayer by Lekshmi Aravindan of S9. The welcome address was delivered by Radhika Sreenath of S3. Then felicitation was given by Dr. Mangalam Ramanathan, Head Department of Chemistry. Abhirami Anilkumar of S5 gave a brief introduction about the speaker. The speaker Vishnu Prasad is an alumni of our college who passed out in 2013. He is the Psychological Counsellor, Trainer and Secretary of Prateeksha, Trivandrum and also HR Manager of Srishti Innovative, Technopark, Trivandrum. He is the award winner for the best youth volunteer for the year 2018-19 by Yogakshemasabha and winner of Trainer’s Excellence Award 2019-20.
He started the session with a game. He explained about knowing the art of image building and how a real image building, which is always good and effective differs from a fake one. Then he discussed about the importance of goal setting in our lives and gave us an activity to write down our short term and long term goals. Then he discussed about the need for having self awareness and self discipline throughout our life and asked us to write down our strengths and weaknesses. He then pointed out the importance of thanking everyone and told about the significant impact it would have on our lives. Afterwards, he explained about giving charity even through a smile and with that he concluded.
The talk was really an informative and interactive one . Then we were having a feedback session and it was handled by Dr. Zeena S. Pillai, Associate Professor. At last, vote of thanks was delivered by Akhil S. Kumar of S7 and the meeting was dispersed with the national anthem by Lekshmi Aravindan of S9.
