A Curriculum Finalization workshop was held on 1-Feb-2014 at AMMACHI Labs, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kollam for the development of computerized learning material forMES based course – GAR105: Tailor (Basic Sewing Operator). The workshop was attended by Mr. Ramesh Babu, Training Officer, Regional Vocational Training Institute, Trivandrum; Mr. James J, Garment making faculty,  Regional Vocational Training Institute, Trivandrum; Ms. Natalie Kriester, Certified Tailor (Master in Tailoring), Germany ; Mr. Ajay Balakrishnan, Project Manager, AMMACHI Labs, Amrita Univerity; Ms. Bhagyalakshmi Nair, Instruction Designer, AMMACHI Labs, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham; Liju, Manager, Post training , AMMACHI Labs, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham; Yamuna; Post Training officer for Quality, AMMACHI Labs, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and other representatives from the various  departments of AMMACHI Labs.

The workshop started at 10 a.m and a very lively discussion ensued among the Subject Matter Experts as the workshop progressed. Through discussions and mutual consultation, they helped delineate the Curriculum, Learning Objectives, Hours of Training and Level of Content Depth for the Foundation Module.  The afternoon session saw a lively discussion between the Subject Matter Experts and Mr Liju, the Post Training Manager on the career opportunities and Ms Yamuna, the Post Training Quality Officer on the product quality requirements.

As part of the collaboration of AMMACHI Labs with Regional Vocational Training Institute (RVTI), Trivandrum, RVTI team has agreed to help with the content preparation and the review process. The foundation module will be developed by Ammachi labs and reviewed by the RVTI team.   The day long workshop was a success and subsequent workshops will be planned for reviews and curriculum finalization of the Gents, Children’s and Women’s product line.
