Department of Nursing Services at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) celebrated Intravenous Nurse Day on January 27, 2014. IV Nurses Day is dedicated for those nurses, who have devoted their lives to providing the best infusion care possible to patients. This year’s IV Nurses Day was themed : IV Nurses – Providing Care for Life.
The function was inaugurated by Dr. Prem Nair, Medical Director, AIMS. The program was felicitated by Dr. Sanjeev K. Singh, Medical Superintendent, AIMS.
Bri. Sai Bala, Nursing Director, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) in her key note address, mentioned the journey of AIMS‘s IV team from 2011 to 2014. She also emphasized on the significance of the IV Team which currently comprises of 28 nurses trained in IV therapy, who have played a pivotal role in reduction of IV complications at AIMS.
The IV team members at AIMS were badged by the Nursing Director.
Competitions such as quiz (IV Quizzio 2014), poster and slogan were held and prizes were awarded for winners by Dr. Prem Nair and Dr. Sanjeev K. Singh. A colourful variety of cultural programs followed.
