In medicine, PH (Pulmonary Hypertension) is an increase in blood pressure in the pulmonary artery, vein or capillaries, leading to shortness of breath, dizziness, fainting, and even heart failure. Dr. Krishna Kumar, from the Amrita School of Medicine, has co-edited a new book on PH, recently published by Elsevier, the world’s largest publisher of medical and scientific literature.
“The book, a multi-author effort, brings together the knowledge base from diverse sources,” stated Dr. Krishna Kumar. “For me, this was an opportunity to work with some of the best practitioners in the field.” Dr. Sheila Haworth, FRCP, FRCPath, FRCPCH, FACC is the co-editor of the book. She is HoD of Cardio Respiratory Sciences at the Institute for Child Health, University College in London.

It was commissioned by the Pulmonary Vascular Research Institute (PVRI), an international research body.
