Abstract : Synthesis, properties, and applications of various carbon-based aerogels are investigated in detail. The complex interrelation between synthesis conditions and properties (porosity, surface area, pore volume, etc.) combined with their role in deciding the performance is highly challenging. Considering the vastness of information available on various carbon-based materials, the present chapter is designed to incorporate different varieties of resorcinol-formaldehyde, CNT, and graphene aerogels with special attention to the effect of processing conditions and applications.
