Students from four Amrita campuses came together to participate in the Computer Society of India’s 25th National Student Convention (CSI-NSC) at Coimbatore on September 24 and 25.
“Amrita students won many of the prizes and best paper awards,” stated Mr. Prashant R. Nair, Vice-Chairman (IT), of ASE Coimbatore, who was also the Organizing Joint Secretary of the event. “Amrita emerged as the institution with the maximum number of laurels.”
Indeed, students from the Amrita School of Arts and Sciences at Mysore joined their colleagues from the Schools of Engineering at Amritapuri, Bangalore and Coimbatore, to make their presence felt in this event. First prize in Code Debugging Contest, first prize in Logical Reasoning Competition, second prize in Technical Quiz — all these were won by Amrita students. Nearly 750 students from over 100 colleges nation-wide participated.
The CSI-NSC is widely regarded as the most prestigious national-level computer-science student conference in India. It has been conducted annually for over two decades now. Of late, there has been a greater emphasis on paper presentations by students. This time saw over 150 papers being presented in 6 tracks. Amrita students and research scholars participated in several tracks and won top honors in these as well.
