Thirteen papers from the Computational Chemistry Group of Computational Engineering and Networking (CEN) were accepted for presentation at the National Symposium on Mathematical Methods and Applications (NSMMA-09).
Being organized to celebrate the birth anniversary of the gifted Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, the Symposium will bring together renowned mathematicians and researchers from reputed institutions worldwide at IITM-Chennai on December 22, 2009.
Srinivasa Ramanujan is known for his substantial contributions to mathematical analysis, number theory, infinite series and continued fractions. “An equation means nothing to me unless it expresses a thought of God,” this genius is said to have often remarked.
Incidentally, most Amrita papers accepted for presentation are authored by undergraduate and graduate students. They will present the papers alongside Professors, Lecturers and Research Associates from several universities, whose papers have also been accepted.
“The contributing students are from CEN and the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,” proudly remarked Krishnan Namboori P. K. of CEN who guided the student groups.
