Abstract : In the recent times, due to the depletion of fossil fuels, the main focus is on the utilization of renewable energy. Solar generation is preferred in metropolitan cities due to lack of wind energy or tidal energy which are available only at the coastal areas. The energy generated from a roof top mounted solar panel during the day is either stored in battery or utilized for the connected load of that particular capacity. It is necessary to adopt data mining and data analytics about consumed power from both the solar panel system and grid connected loads. This is used for various in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) which plays a major role in energy management in modern power system. Data is collected as raw input in the form of voltage and current which is further processed using Node microcontroller unit (NODEMCU) in order to get the magnitude of various power consumptions using data mining technique. This data is later sent to a cloud based platform ThingSpeak for data analytics. It helps in plotting daily and annual load curves using data analytics technique. ThingSpeak helps to view data in various electronic gadgets with the help of a dedicated Application using IoT (Internet of Things).
