Abstract : Diabetes mellitus occurs when the pancreas is unable to produce insulin or it cannot utilize the insulin efficiently. People who have type 2 diabetes, takes insulin injection if it is not curable with medicine. Potassium drop in blood is a condition which may occur for chronic diabetic patients. Potassium is a very important mineral in blood which helps to regulate the fluid balance, muscle contractions etc. The reduction of potassium can cause many severe health problems. Diabetes patients may need to check their potassium levels also on a regular basis. Traditional methods to check the sugar and potassium level involves pricking of the finger tip and testing using the blood sample. This creates inconvenience for the patients who need to check their blood sugar and potassium level regularly. This paper proposes a dual monitoring system which can check the blood sugar and potassium level non-invasively.
