Bio

Dr. M. Muthulakshmi, is currently serving as an Assistant Professor (Senior Grade) in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Chennai, India. She has 2 years of industry, 5 years of research and 6 years of academic experience. She completed her PhD from Anna University, Chennai, India, in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Image Processing and Master’s degree in Embedded System Technologies from the same University. She received her B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. She has published 30 papers in scopus indexed journals and conferences. She is recipient of INSA Visiting Scientist Fellowship, DST-SERB Junior Research Fellowship, Anna Centenary Research Fellowship and M.E. Gold Medalist. Her research area includes integrating computational engineering and biomedical applications. She is interested in developing wearables, embedded system model, for veterinary health care, public health using signal processing, image processing, deep learning and machine learning algorithms. She has worked with cardiovascular magnetic resonance images for diagnosis of severity levels of heart failure and dental images for identification of cavities. Currently started her analysis with heart sound signal, respiratory sound signal, animal respiratory health monitoring, lung CT scans, and X-ray images. She is a member of IEEE, Signal Processing Society, Engineering in Medicine and Biology society, Women in Engineering society.
