Abstract : The advent of polymer nanocomposites and hybrid polymer nanocomposites had widened the scope of neat polymers by enhancing their mechanical and other properties. It had further extended its areas of applications from engineering to biomedical and other application of prominence. The current discussion is primarily focused on different application area of nanofillers and their role in improvising the mechanical properties of neat polymer. A systematic study of available literatures presents that the synergy between polymer matrix fillers and its dispersion in matrix material resulted in improvised mechanical properties. A critical review of different application area and preparation technique is also presented.
