Objective of event: Understanding and working on Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality

Summary of the event:
Department of Computer Science has organized a webinar on Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality on 10th April 2021 for Final year UG and PG students of Computer Science department. The main aim of the webinar is to make participants aware of augmented and virtual reality is blooming trend in field of Multimedia and Graphics and the numerous job opportunity for Multimedia specialist and the benefits of using Unity Platform for both learning and development. Mr. Sheikh Nihal, Founder, Proprietor of Creative Community, Mysuru and Ms. Anitha H, Senior Unity Developer, Mysuru were the resource persons for the webinar.
Mr. Sheikh Nihal gave brief introduction on Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality, how they differ from each other and various components of hardware and software such as  HoloLens, Smart Glasses, Generalized Smartphones, Head Gear, Oculus Touch Controllers, and Unity etc. used develop several multimedia products. And mentioned various job opportunity being specialized in this domain with does not demand any certification to get into the Virtual and Augmented reality which demand a strong skill set. Ms. Anitha H continued the session by giving live demo using Unity on how to develop a project my choosing a character to various setting and database connectivity.
The session concluded with the interaction session with students. Students were interested to have hands on workshop to know more and to gain a practical aspect of product development and tools usage. The faculty coordinators for the session were Mr. Rohith V and Ms. Priyanka M.
