About the Speaker

Dr. Gopinath T. obtained his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science &  Technology, Shibpur in 2018 and worked as a post-doctoral fellow at IIT Bombay until July 2020. His research primarily focused on diffusion bonding. He has 14 international journal publications and two international conferences to his credit. He holds an M.Tech in Quality Reliability & Operations.
Research from Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata and an ME from Bengal Engineering and Science University  Shibpur (IIEST) in Metallurgy and Material Science. He is an automobile engineering graduate from Madras  University. He worked as a Senior Engineer at the quality department of Accu Forge at Hindustan  Motors for more than three years. He has hands-on experience in various aspects of engine manufacturing,  and general engineering troubleshooting. In this lecture, Dr. Gopinath will discuss the challenges involved in the manufacturing of actual engines. He will also touch upon his research in metallurgy and how it connects with the engineering challenges involved in creating efficient heat engines.
