Dear Readers,

We are excited to present the fourth edition of our e-magazine, Rasatantra before you. We are overwhelmed by the great interest, encouragement and very good reception of the e-magazine by all of you.

This edition contains three articles, related to different areas of chemistry.

Dr. Kamlesh Kumar from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, has written a wonderful article on the ‘Vitamin B12 Coenzyme and its Model compounds’ which is the area of his research interest. The article sheds light on the structure, properties and developments of cobalamin chemistry.

Dr. R. Prakash Chandran, from Mannam Memorial NSS College, Kottiyam, has contributed an informative article about the ‘Enzymes in the food industry’. It is the extracts of the talk delivered by him in the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri in a recent symposium organized by Department of Chemistry.

Dr. Naveen Kulkarni from Department of Chemistry, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, has contributed an article, titled, ‘Why to study coordination chemistry’ discusses the importance applications of the coordination compounds and encourages students to opt the coordination chemistry for higher study and research.
