Mitochondrial dynamics

Mitochondria continually undergo fusion and fission along with motility responding to cellular signaling. Our goal is to systematically evaluate the regulatory switches that govern the dynamics. Although the machineries mediating mitochondrial fusion and fission are discovered, little is known about how mitochondrial dynamics is regulated. An understanding of this regulation is important, given the dramatic changes in mitochondria that occur in different disease conditions.
