The students of Amrita won prizes for coming up with astonishing solutions, including national security problems, during Robotsavam 2017 – India’s first ever International level tech fest exclusively for Robotics. Robotsavam 2017, organised by the IEEE Student Branch of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Amritapuri campus, was held at the campus on July 28-30, 2017.
AmritaCREATE, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, organized a one-day workshop on Online Labs at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Mugalsarai, Uttar Pradesh, on June 29, 2017. Thirty-six science teachers from fourteen schools participated in the workshop.
Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications'(Amrita WNA) M. Tech. Student, Gayathri S. Menon, was selected by ABB, a Swedish-Swiss multinational corporation, as an intern for a stipend of Rs. 25000, per month.

Dr. V. Srinivasa Chakravarthy, Department of Biotechnology, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, visted Computational Neuroscience Laboratory, Amrita School of Boitechnology, from July 20-22, 2017, and delivered talks on Basal Ganglia and Bharati – a common script for Indian languages.
AmritaCREATE, a research project under Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, organized a one-day workshop on Online Labs for School Lab Experiments at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Muzaffarpur, Bihar, on July 12, 2017. The workshop was attended by twenty-nine science teachers from sixteen schools.
AmritaCREATE, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, organized a one-day workshop on Online Labs at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bowenpally, Secunderabad, Telangana, on July 7, 2017. One hundred and three science teachers from fifty schools participated in the workshop.
A cancer labelling fluorescent probe was designed by Dr. Sankarprasad Bhuniya, Research Professor at Amrita Center for Industrial Research & Innovation and Amrita Center for Excellence in Advanced Materials and Green Technologies, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, along with Nithya Velusamy and Kondapa Naidu Bobba, Dr. Nandita Mishra, Assistant Professor, Amrita School of Biotechnology and PhD students Divya Nedungadi and Anupama Binoy.
