Abstract : The paper presents a novel substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) based antenna with bi-directional radiation. The peak gain of the antenna is 5dBi in both the beams. The beams are placed 180° with each other having a half power beam width in both the lobes. Bidirectional radiation is achieved by incorporating slots in specific orientation on SIW. The reported antenna finds its applications in radars, mobile communication, satellite communication, etc.
