Abstract : For an android OS, service is a segment of code that runs in the background. Service runs on its own or in the context of another application's process. The study endeavours to search out two things of which the former is, a detailed documentation of service manager and its functionalities and a latter which deals with inclusion of logging of provenance and auditing feature against the malicious service launch in scala language. Component hijacking prone apps are not generally malicious, but by the attacking applications influence, it behaves maliciously. The Proposed idea of SMScala will prevent the possibility of replacing a service that is already published; Since, in SMJava the services are not backed, the proposed idea maintains a HashMap for logging. This log data of services will undergo auditing process, which checks for malicious service launch. Authentication of services were not considered before, now the enhanced SM will ensure authentication of services by the implementation of SMScala. © Research India Publications.
