Abstract : A 23 years female patient with multiple papular skin lesions associated with severe pain, blackish discoloration and burning sensation in the ankle joint, more on left side with a history of nine years with frequent remission of symptoms. The case is an evident for the classical references mentioned in our Samhitas, which was treated adopting the Chikistha sutra of Charaka. In modern parlance, the condition of Vatarakta was diagnosed as Gouty arthritis.
