Abstract : Effective utilization of microstrip patch antennas as filter is studied in this paper. Microstrip antennas of square geometry is extended as band pass filter. The parent filter is modified with Sierpinski fractals for enhancement of characteristics. The proposed filters are optimized for performance using ANSYS HFSS. Prototypes of the optimized filters are tested and the measured results are found to be in good agreement with the simulated one.
