Abstract : A perturbation or disturbance in the microstrip line manipulates the current flow through the transmission line thus modifying its performance as a filter. This modified microstrip line - Perturbed Microstrip Line (PMSL) provides bandstop filter characteristics in the frequency spectrum. The perturbation is provided as a Complementary Spiral Resonator (CSR). The paper includes analysis of this system and also design equations are furnished. The proposed filter is fabricated and validated for the performance.
