Abstract : In this paper, Load frequency controller has been developed to satisfy the demand as per the contract in deregulated power system. The governor characteristics have been analyzed in terms of frequency against turbine power. The system with primary, secondary and both control loops are analyzed. The secondary controller is found to be predominant in fixing the generation as per the contract. The secondary Proportional Integral controller has been tuned for the Multi Source Multi area deregulated system. The tuned controller provides better performance not only in implementing the contract and but also in satisfying the violation.
