Prepare for a career in Integrated M. Sc. Mathematics / Physics

Amrita offers a five year integrated Programme, Master of Sciences (M. Sc.) Mathematics / Physics. The proposed Programme aims to provide students with a broad theoretical background so that students are completely equipped to move into careers in academic, industrial and commercial organizations. The course curriculum is interdisciplinary in nature involving applied chemistry, applied physics, mathematics and biological sciences. Our institute has a good number of experts in these areas along with basic instrumentation facilities. The content of the course provides an understanding of different aspects of the subject. Laboratory courses have been designed to provide an exhaustive and hands on experience on working with various sophisticated instruments. Final semester is dedicated to thesis/dissertation work giving students experience in solving a real-life problem under the supervision of faculty members involved in pursuing research and development projects, usually related to industrial problems.

After successful completion of the academic requirements students are awarded a Master of Science degree. The curriculum is designed to ensure depth in the area of specialization together with breadth of exposure and intellectual enrichment and to prepare the students for high level professional research and development career in national laboratories, universities and industry.

NOTE : *Candidate has the option to exit from the Programme after 3 years with a degree in B. Sc. Physics.

ELIGIBILITY

Candidates, whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July, 1998 A pass in 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent examination with minimum 60% aggregate of marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry with not less than 55% in each of these three subjects.
