The School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, organized a two-day National Seminar on Scientific Research Writing and Latex Skills from August 18-19, 2017. The event was inaugurated by Dr. C. George Thomas, Associate Dean, Kerala Agricultural University, Thrissur. Dr. U. Krishnakumar delivered the welcome address. The official inauguration concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Sony Vijayan.
The keynote session was on “Research Methodology, Research Problem and Scientific Writing” handled by Dr. C. George Thomas, Chief Guest. The afternoon session started off with an erudite lecture by Dr. Johney Jonson, Associate Professor, School of Management and Business Studies, MG University, on the topic “Research Design, Resources, Planning and Preparation”. The Second day began with a session on the topic: “Research Methods, Sampling and Data Collection” by Dr. Martin Patrick, Chief Economist, Centre for Public Policy Research, Ernakulam. The second session on August 19th was handled by Dr. Pradeep Kumar Singh, Professor, Department of Commerce, Bharathidasan Government College for Women, Puducherry on the topic “Research Interpretation and Report Writing”. The afternoon session on the topic “Latex Skills” was handled by Faculty members of the Department of Mathematics, Dr. M. R. Chithra and Sri. R. Parameswaran. Certificates were distributed to all the participants of which 20 were from different colleges in the district. Research Scholars, M. Phil. students, Postgraduate and final semester Undergraduate students of the department benefited from the two-day program.
