National Conference on ‘Structural, Institutional and Financial Sector Changes in the New Millennium’ at Amrita Mysuru Campus

A two day National Conference on ‘Structural, Institutional and Financial Sector changes (both Global and Indian) in the New Millennium and the Road Ahead’ was organized by the Department of Management and Commerce, School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru campus, from April 7-8, 2017.

The current global economy may at best be described as in a ‘state of flux’ throwing uncertainties and policy complexities both at macro and sectoral levels. India embarked on the path of economic reforms, more popularly called LPG policy, and the twenty-five years that the country has seen in the implementation of the different segments of this policy has meant several socio-economic and institutional changes. The objective of the conference was to provide a platform to present and deliberate research findings on the entire gamut of the current Indian and global scenarios. The main tracks of the conference were Economy: Global, Economy: India, Commerce, Finance and Business, Management, Taxation and IT Sector and Indian Economy.

Delegates from industry and academia, along with research scholars and students of UG and PG, participated in the conference. More than 64 research papers were presented and published in IJABER (International Journal for Applied Business and Economic Research) and IOSR Journal (International Organization of Scientific Research). The outcome of the conference was the awareness of the holistic picture of the current economic scenario and strategies to cope with the emerging challenges on different fronts and segments of the economy.
