Farewell to the First Outgoing Batch of Doctor of Pharmacy

Amrita School of Pharmacy bid farewell to the first outgoing batch of Doctor of Pharmacy students (Pharm. D.) on August 15, 2016. The chief guest of the day was Sri. E. P. Jayarajan, Honorable Minister for Industries, Commerce and Sports for Kerala. The benedictory address was delivered by Sampoojya Swami Purnamritananda Puri, General Secretary, Mata Amritanandamayi Math. Padma Bhushan Dr. T. Ramasamy, Former Secretary, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India and Dr. Sibin Abraham Kurian,‎Head, Drug Safety & Epidemiology and Clinical Scientific Director at Novartis Healthcare PVT LTD – ‎Novartis Healthcare PVT LTD were the guests of honor.

Dr. Sankaran K., Registrar, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Dr. Sanjeev K. Singh, Medical Superintendent, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, also addressed the gathering. The graduating students were presented certificates and awards of excellence. Congratulating the students, Jayarajan in his inaugural address said, “With the disease burden rising all over India especially that of cancer and lifestyle ailments, these young Pharma professionals will have a key role in improving public health. They will get more opportunities to serve the needy than even politicians.” He stressed the need for these professionals to provide service in villages and under-privileged sections of society. Dr. Umadevi P., Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacology, proposed the vote of thanks.
