Dr. Shantikumar V. Nair & Dr. Rangasamy Jayakumar from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham among the Top Ten Materials Science Scientists in India

Prof. Shantikumar V. Nair and Prof. Rangasamy Jayakumar of Amrita Center for Nanosciences and Molecular Medicine, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham are among the Top Ten Material Science Scientists in India, as featured by Research.com. Top scientists ranking is a reliable list which is based on a meticulous examination of 166,880 scientists on Google Scholar and Microsoft Academic Graph. For the discipline of Material Science, profiles of over 11,163 scientists from more than 1398 institutions across the world were examined. The inclusion criteria for scholars to be considered into the ranking of top scientists are based on the discipline h-index, the proportion of the contributions made within the given discipline, in addition to the awards and achievements of the scientists. Research.com is one of the major websites for research rankings, offering credible data on scientific contributions from leading researchers since 2014. The annual release of their rankings are regularly featured by leading universities worldwide, that includes UC Berkeley, The University of Maryland, Stanford Robotics Lab, and The University of Texas.

According to the Stanford University rankings, Prof. Nair and Prof. Jayakumar are also among the best 2% scientists in the world. Prof. Nair received his BTech in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Bombay and the MS and Doctorate degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Columbia University, USA. For more than 20 years he served as a distinguished professor at the University of Massachusetts, USA. In 1986, he received the Presidential Young Investigator Award from US President Ronald Reagan for his research in composite materials. He is the recipient of the Prestigious National Research Award from the Government of India in 2011 for research in Nanosciences. In 2014, Prof. Nair received the impressive C N R Rao India Nanosciences Award for his outstanding contributions in the Research & Development of Nanotechnology in India.
