The Coimbatore Campus of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham celebrated the Chancellor, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi’s (Amma), birthday on 27th September, 2017.
The chief guest’s of the event, Dr. G. Bakthavathsalam, Chairman, Dharmaveera K. Govindaswamy Naidu, Medical Trust, Coimbatore, and the Padmashri awardee, spoke on Organ Donation while Dr. A. P. Kumaraguru , Dharmaveera K. Govindaswamy Naidu Medical Trust, spoke on Trauma and Accident care.
Several programmes were organized by social outreach initiative and student clubs such as Amrita Learning to Integrate Values & Excellence (ALIVE), Sahaya (the social outreach club), Amrita Quench (the water harvesting & conservation club), and National Service Scheme (NSS). Other programmes included planting of sapling for organic farming by the students, blood donation camp, interaction with farmers of Ettimadai village to build awareness on water conservation and special poojas.
