Best Young Teacher Award for Amrita Faculty

Dr. Hardik Vachhrajani, Assistant Professor at the Amrita School of Business, Amritapuri campus recently received the prestigious Best Young Teacher Award. The award was conferred by the Indian Higher Education Forum and was sponsored by AICAR Business School, Mumbai.

A community of individuals and practitioners of higher education in India, the forum is only two year old but also has over 3,500 members. The largest such community in India, it aims to help the development of a system of higher education in India that is world class. The forum is incorporated as a Trust.

On September 5th of every year, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the forum recognizes and felicitates outstanding teachers in higher education.

Faculty Award

“The higher education system in India lacks a recognition mechanism for faculties who form the very base of the system,” stated Dr. A. K. Sen Gupta, founder and convener of the forum.

“The forum’s yearly award program is an attempt to fill that void,” he added.

The forum awards have received strong support from industry and are sponsored by Wockhardt, NUCSOFT, Zensar Technologies Ltd., Micro Technologies Ltd., Global Talent Track, Lupin Ltd., among other organizations.
The year the list of honored teachers included Amrita’s Dr. Hardik. He was the youngest among all those selected for the honor. Mumbai newspaper, Free Press Journal, featured the event, profiling all chosen best teachers including Dr. Hardik.

With nine years experience in the fields of consulting, teaching and research in India, Europe and East Africa, Dr. Hardik is much loved by his students.

He earned a PhD in Management from NMIMS, Mumbai and was a recipient of the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Fellowship sponsored by the European Union. In Europe, Dr. Hardik continued post doctoral research at the University Of Bologna, Italy.

Audience

“In Europe, I researched innovation in small and medium enterprises under the tutelage of Professor Maurizio Sobrero,” Dr. Hardik shared. Dr. Hardik also obtained a research grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation in 2008.

At Amritapuri, Dr. Vachhrajani teaches classes on innovation, quality management, entrepreneurship, SMEs, regional development through innovation and clusters to MBA students. Amrita congratulates him and wishes him all the best.
