The Teachers’ Day was celebrated on September 5, 2016 (3 p.m.) in Brahmasthanam auditorium at the School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus. The program started with the institutional prayer followed by lighting of the lamp. Prof. P. A. Appukuttan and Dr. K. Balakrishnan of the Department of English and Languages gave the Teachers’ Day message. Dr. U. Krishnakumar delivered the felicitation speech. Dr. Balasubramanian was honoured on being conferred Ph.D.

Dr. U. Krishnakumar paid respects to Prof. P.A. Appukuttan on his 81st birthday by adorning him with a Ponnada. The programme ended with the Shanthi Mantra and the National Anthem.
